Special Events

The Willson Center supports numerous public events each academic year outside of its recurring grant-funded programs. Many of these events are hosted and sponsored by the Willson Center itself, or in collaboration with on- and off-campus partners. Others are hosted by faculty and/or students with Willson Center support through Research Seminars, Research Clusters, and other programs.

The Willson Center joined the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication in presenting a public conversation with New York Times best-selling author and ESPN writer Wright Thompson at the Morton Theatre in October 2024. Grady College Dean Charles N. Davis interviewed Thompson on his new book, The Barn: The Secret History of a Murder in Mississippi.
